That's weird. I get a picture of a priate putting icons with people on them in a bag in a ship and the word "Enter".

Don't even bother trying to get, it lags up your computer. I converted mine to classic view, dramatic performance increase.

I just got the shell32.dll off a person I know who has windows XP, viewed it in an icon viewer, printed the screen and put each one onto a bitmap. Then I got a program which changes the windows icons. Trouble is its a 30 day trial, does anybody know of a freeware icon changer? Are these types of programs dodgy, does anyone else use them?

Right-click on your desktop. Click properties. Goto desktop and then click Customize Desktop. Click on an icon and click Change Icon. Load shell32 in and select an icon.

You can only do that on XP, and I have win98, that's why I want the XP icons. Also if i get the icons from the xp shell32.dll that I copied, the link just goes back to the win98 shell32.dll in the windows\system32 folder.

Try renaming the one you got. (Doubts that'll work)
You could extract them as ico with a resource editor.
