hey,
Im not asking anyone to code a 2d engine for me however i would like to know what sort of things i need in my engine.

please help me add to this list

movement of charicter
movement of enemys
collision (o dear)
effects of 'power ups'

any other things ive missed plz post to help me out

That was really uncalled for Tapewormz!!! This is a forum after all, not a spelling bee.

But any ways, try having save points (like in Sonic games) if your levels are long and also some kind of switchs, though that might be under collison, that trigger a trap or secret.

P.S. Does anyone besides me remember what a Fraggle is?

@ The Professor

Fraggle? - as in the TV show Fraggles Rock. That was a great child hood cartoon. Altough I got called a fraggle because of my freckles I used to have - glad I don't have any now lol.
