Now I wonder if Mike would be willing to let me test out the Dev-CPP version.

Worst mistake of your life, son.

I kid, I kid, it's actually pretty cool. Hope you get that Dev-CPP version soon.

Remember, Jimmy still loves you.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Very fuuny If I don't get the Dev-CPP version I guess I could move over to Visual C++(Grumble Grumble).
I guess I would have to learn how to make it work.
I need to get a new copy of my favorite C++ book.
My copy is on it's last leg. I really need one in a hard bound backing, but I can't seem to find one. Anyone know of one out there?

Hi all, I just ordered my copy of the SDK for VC++!!!
(Unfortunately, I'll have to wait with the download as I am at work right now)
A friend of mine has told me about the DarkBasic yesterday and I said "Bah... a basic language??? Please, I want to keep my C-syntax!"
Then he send me the link and after a little browsing I found the newsletter of TheGameCreators and read that there is an SDK released!

what??? visual c++ is a thousand times better than dev-c++, for starters the file size and the ability to create a window without hardcoding it

Dev-C++ is free and I've only needed it for console programming. Visual C++ was giving me problems in trying to develop just straight C++ apps for console without having to build a project, but apparently since you have to do that in Dev-Cpp, it shouldn't be a real problem for me to move back to it.
However which version of Visual C++ should I go with .net or 6? I liked 6 but had problems when installing it. .net is suppose to be in compliance with the C++ spec, at least 98% and that is what I got from the microsoft website.

Well, I have installed Visual Studio.net(Grumble Grumble )
Got my first build to work which was that example code from the monthly newsletter. I'm trying to figure out where to go from here. I thought about making it spin, but I've deicded that there were enough spinning cubes out there. I'll try something else.

It sounds exceptional. I am ordering it next week.
I am working on DT server now, although I just figured out how to integrate LUA with vc++ 6, this will come in handy when it comes to coding my game engine in DGSDK.

The 3d chat is coming...

Heh, Thank you MiR!

After downloading and installing (AND after installing the DirecX SDK extra dll's)
I played around with the examples that come with the SDK but
they are very rarely documented
Well, not a real problem.

Right now I'm creating all the structs and classes that I will need to play around with the SDK (i.e for camerahandling etc), then, I will start playing around with the camera and objects in 3d-space...
(I didn't use another Dark language yet you know
