It looks a lot like the original. Should be fairly good.

Hmmm. Charlie and the chocolate factory (wasn't the original *film* (not book) a different name? Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory perhaps?).... my sister remembers it fondly. But I was a lad, so I don't

Cheers

This is a none musical version of the film, also it is more like the book with Christopher Lee as willy wonka's dad. The name is also the name of the book, the original was financed by a chocolate company who were releasing a new chocolate bar (the Wonka bar obviously) and said they would finance the film as long as 'Wonka' appeared in the title, so it changed to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

The book was called "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", with it's sequel "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator", but the original film was called "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". Don't know why they changed the name, guess they thought "Willy Wonka" sounded better than "Charlie".

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

I don't recall ever meeting Willy Wonka's father in the book. I assumed you meant Charlie's grandfather but after checking IMDB, it appears that you are correct - how odd. o_O

Oh, and how can you have a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie without singing and dancing Oompa Loompas? It has to be part musical!

My friend once stayed up till two in the morning memorizing the oompa loompa song o_O

Danny Elfman's doing music in this one (Oingo Boingo anyone? lol) I like his stuff, in bands and movies, so it should be good.

Song of the whenever i feel like updating it....

Why do people feel the need to make remakes of movies that don't need remakes!

That movie looks horrid! Depp looks too feminine.
