No. It's a 2d "side-scroller" and you go around as a beginner until you get to level 8, then you get to choose from a magician, warrior, bowsman or um... I can't remember the last one... Visit [href]www.maplestory.com[/href] for more details.

Actually, only the Magician Class can be aquired at level 8, the rest are at level 10.

Requirements Per Class:
Warrior - 35 Str at Lvl 10
Bowman - 25 Dex at Lvl 10
Magician - 25 Int at Lvl 8
Rogue - 25 Dex and 25 Luk at Lvl 10

If you want a change from smacking monsters around, try the Shumi quest (in Kerning), or that Pirate's quest (the one who needs the flowers in Lith) and prepare for A) Something a bit different from smacking monsters around and B) Some major frustration.

Make sure you have something nearby that you can beat when you're doing either of em.

They were patching the servers and what not from 7:00AM on my end. The new patch is out and everythings working now.

I like the new event with the new patch, it's pretty fun.

...Though people can't time messages for their lives, this is the best I could get from it.

Oh well, hopefully the ornaments I got will make good gifts or something.

I got loads of Ores [Now Level 10 Mage], I sold a Steel Ore for 20,000mesos + a couple of rubbish items, seemed a good deal for me.

Do you mean Steel Ore or Refined Steel? Steel Ore doesn't commonly sell for more than 1,500 Mesos where I go, though Refined Steel for that price is acceptable...

I sold 2 steel ores for 2.5k each. I didn't know how much they were actually worth so I thought i was getting ripped off . But I sold them anyway cus I needed money for cab to peorion

They're having another server patch, maybe this might bring the long awaited Ossyria...

...or it could just be another stupid security fix.

All I could see though, is that they call the patch v0.22, nice jump from 0.15. It could be anything, good or bad (it could also be another one of those verification system changes that scared the piss out of everyone who played).

Yeah, there's a new patch on the website...when it's working (and if I saw it correctly). Though, I've found out I cannot read for my life in the morning unless I've had my cup of coffee. New patch is 0.16, not 0.22.

Well it sucks, I can't play for awhile until they finish patching or something because when I click on the Global server I get an error, and so I went to the site and it said that they were patching due to a slight error.
Man, I really want to get back into this game.

Haha! I had to sleep while they patched it and I downloaded the patch right now... and I got a garnet ore.

Start the game.

If that doesn't work(should), then I think they have patches on the global site.

Edit: Updated ore list:

1 emerald.
2 amethmist.
1 garnet.
2 adminitum.
1 orilicon.
2 steel.

And I have a triangular dagger and 2 leathers.

And I'm on chanel 19 in Victoria.

Ok. I checked the site and I clicked on the information for updates but there were no download links for patches and I get an error when I start the game.

Edit: I'm going to try and reinstall because I keep getting the same error.

They're having another server check right now/soon. I just logged off because of the message. The Dude Guy also told me that they're upgrading the (horribly buggy piece of crap) forums as well. Joy!

Well, I'm starting to love that stupid place in Sleepywood now. I've gotten plenty of ores from it already, and I will be rolling in the meso dough soon enough
