Dear Everyone,
I would like to get thread going where you can list all your favorite things(relating to programming/modeling. Like for instance tell your favorite person in the forums and why? Tell what Mod you like best and why. Whats your favorite game company ex. Activisom EA Games etc. Your favorite game ex.Diablo, Final Fantasy. Whats your favorite program ex. DarkBasic, C++, Maya, 3ds Max and why? and you could go on and be creative but just tell me your favorite and why it is your favorite. Everyone should post in this.
Thank You

My favorite thing about these threads is they are usually on page 3 by the end of the week.

I've made only 3 or 4 posts for a whole day. And because of the quality of the posts they stay up for a while if your jealous thats ok. Not everyone can bring up good topics such as I. Lets quit the hating of the BL's and answer the questions. BTW check the dates of the threads before you all run your f***in mouths. Sorry I hate being the mean guy but you're all pissing me off. So stick to the question and I wont post til tommorow. As for BL Mason hes his own mind and can do what he wants.

MikeS, I played Pirates! for about 7 hours total, and now I'm completely bored by it. It gives the same thing to do over and over and over again. Get a piece of a map from some chick, sail to Campeche / Lost Harbour, get out of boat, walk to Lost City. Rinse. Repeat.

I've found all the family, all the treasure... and all but 3 of the Cities. And that's in 7 hours. That's not much gameplay. Please tell me there's something I'm missing.

Fight, plunder, take over towns. It is repetitive, but it's such a beautiful game. Still a pretty good game, if a little disappointing. I'll have to retire my guy just to see what happens when it's all over.

Meh, I'm kinda depressed now. These towns can be taken far too easily. I'm disappointed with Sid.

Still have to love trying to talk to the Spanish Governor when you've taken 7 of their ships.

I do wish they would let you wander around the towns more, rather than sneak through them though.

I became an Admiral or whatever equivalent in all the nations, and I routinely sank / stole everyone's ships. They all still let me into their towns. After the first ten minutes, I never had to buy food or anything like that. Just take it from other ships before you sink them. I also would've like to be able to control my entire fleet during a battle instead of just my Flagship. What's the point of having 6 more ships following you around if they can't fight? By the end of the first hour, I had gotten all ship improvements, and could take any ship, even when they're escourted. The game was just far too simple and short for $50. It seemed more like a shareware game than a major production. It's something I'd expect from a DB programmer.

Yeah, they usually do, unless you sail in with about 4 or more of their ships.

Agreed, but I don't think the combat would've been easy in realtime.

Combat is pretty simple, which is good and bad. You and me are probebly more hardcore gamers(I'd hope so if we're on this forum ), so this is probebly a game aimed at more casual gamers.

On a side note, that sounds so familiar from somewhere. Can't think of it, but I know I've heard something similar.
(Was it "Physics for the rest of us"?)

Spanish don't seem to care when I roll into port with 6 of their War Galleons. The governor even let me marry his daughter. (Which reminds me that the dancing is a horrible waste of time.)

Probably true. I wouldn't have minded turn based battles if I get to use my whole fleet to do it, though.

Far too simple. Just get upwind of them before you engage them, so you get the wind at your back during battle. Then just go straight to their ship, and vanquish their captain. The whole affair generally took me 30 seconds each ship.

Dunno, hadn't heard of that, as far as I can remember. The site was basically to provide some really cheap, but high quality, game models and textures for the folks here, but my partner and I ended up getting jobs, so our time for that was cut back drastically a month or 2 ago. I should really do some more stuff for it, and put up the rest of what I've already done.
