Yeah. I was talking about Ultima IX. It is a great game.
However, I had another cool idea to make it a blend of RTS and RPG. I'll post again once it is a bit more developed.

Well, the level editor now constructs basic levels, saves them and they can be loaded into the game. It still needs to add enemies, position the player and add pickups etc.

I'm working on the movement but it is more Diablo-ish than RTS like I wanted. Screens tomorrow if I can get on the net.

Why?
I now have an idea for a different style of gameplay. I've made good progress on the level editor and some effects for it and will have screens/movie/demo of it soon.
Is anyone else taking part still?
Anyone else going to join?

1 week for entries left

Hey everbody Marina has been real sick and off from work for the last week and she relasped last night, so I will be doing the post for the contest until she is able to come back to work. We thought she had the flu but its a really nasty virus.

sincerely,

Beth

You may get more responses for this from the DBPro forum if DBP is allowed. Not many DBP people read the DBC forum it seems.

I own DBP but read DBC (because I like to help people when I can and am going to buy DBC shortly for just that reason). Guess we're both losers.

Meh, it's a shame it has to be 3d. I just had an idea for a little 2d game (though technically it's in 3d, but uses plains that don't move at all in the 3rd dimension ) and figured this might be the perfect motivation to get something done on it. Oh well.

Edit: And I hope Marina is feeling better.

ok my Teams Game is progressing quite well. The games name is
Project Grudge
its now a First Person Shooter instead of third. Lack of models made us have to change the game play. And it speeds the game up a bit.
here is a link of the menu. i finished it last night. The game is still in its early stages but we are going to be working really hard to meet the deadline..
http://www.geocities.com/g4l3ku5/menupic.JPG

We only have a few more things to do before we can fine tune it. This includes:
-Enemy AI (near completion)
-Level Selection
-Target Range in the Progress
-Training Tutorial on The game (hopefully will have time to make this)
-HUD
-Collision

after all that is completed then game will be set to go. So.. we got.. about 5 days left
What am i waisting my time here for? I gotta finish the game!

No more updates until release

I would think so. It said you could use plugins and the .csm importer is a plugin. And if you are not using the .csm importer then you are just exporting it to a .x and I don't see how loading a .x model could possibly be illegal.

[edit] And I believe the rules say you have until april 30 to finish the game you just have to let them know you are entering by feb 7.

Sorry. Was unable to use the internet when I got home.
I now have the basis of a very action based engine made as well as the level editor for it. I'll try and get screens up tomorrow evening.

actually, unless anyone else enters in the next 3 and 1/2 hours(btw what time region are the entry/submission dates in?) the grand total of entrants is: 8.

j/k

as far as screenshots go, I haven't really got many, I have mainly been concentrating on the level editor. However, I will attatch a few screenies of my game so far(not very good media wise yet, but I'm working on it!) Also, Please could the question above(about the timezones) be answered?

Dodo.

I though the first was too bright so the second is just the first using alpha mapping instead of ghosting.
