Hi. Some of you may remember me, I was a DB'er for quite a while and made Magic World (world editor program). There still seems to be some interest in it but as it was created some time ago there are compatibility problems and no new features are supported, and it is for DB rather than DB Pro.

I have no plans to update it any further, but if there are enough DB'ers who feel confident enough to untangle the messy, un-notated source to help update it as an ongoing community program, I'll release the source code. There were some features in there I am very proud of: the matrix sculpting tools are pretty advanced, and the object placing, sizing and rotating are all handled, I think, very well with some innovative functions like randomising for creating forests etc - many of which a lot of people failed to find!

It was the first program I ever completed so the source, as I said, is quite messy, but if a few people with the coding experience to have a go at it want to adopt it for the community, please let me know and I'll find a way of releasing the source.

Reply in this thread, but also e-mail me on:

How about the source for
'Attack Of The Baddies'
while you're at it?
I think I'll be able to use a few of the effects from for my Duke clone,,,

If you are updating, could you keep the DB version up as well, as some of us still have DB

Like I say, I am NOT updating, hence the idea to release the source. Hopefully if a collective is updating it, they will be able to update a DB and DBPro version... As soon as I can I'll find a way of releasing the source and maintaining the different versions on the all seeing i site with their authors, changes etc.

As for Attack of The Baddies, I'm sorry but I'm still working on that so I won't be releasing the source for that. I've been working on adding buildings and vehicles to the demo but it's slow going, with all my other commitments.

Once again, I lovd this app. I still think it's one of the best - especially the about screen

I wrote a convertor for myself that will convert MW matrices to my own format, however they it was closely tied into my motorbiking game. And now DB 1 won't run any more with DX 9, but as always I have an idea
