Not sure how many of you know this, but a 4 year old (I think, it's a pretty low age anyway) wrote a song about "Schnappi das kleine krokodil", which translates to "Schnappi, the small crocodile". This song made it to #1 in Germany! Reports say they are playing the music video repeatedly on German MTV...

Anyway, I have a download link for the song and the video

Crazy Germans...

Yeah, it was #1 on the German charts last I heard. The singer's name is Joy Gruttman. However, she's 6 not 4.

I have a hard time believing a 6 year old wrote this, but hey, didn't Mozart compose several symphonies before he was 9?

But why didn't the singer have the stereotypical deep German voice (well it is in my mind )

Actually the little kid didn't write it. Her aunt wrote the song, and the 7-year old Joy just sang it.

Sorry, for some reason you have to cut 'n' paste the address.... can't be a link.

@indi: Hmmmm...maybe she could tour with Rammstein They'd just have to teach her that song about fire...

I'd say it's cute if she didn't talk like Hitler.

"I'd say it's cute if she didn't talk like Hitler."

that's sure some tolerance in action.

I wonder why some people directly think about Hitler when talking about Germany.
I live 5 minutes from that country (by foot), and I surely don't see the population in such a way.

By the way, there are several remixes of that song.

it's probably because of the fact you live so close that you get to see germans for what they truly are, where as over here we get to see them for what we learn about them, either through television (and we dont see much of germany on tv) or through history (and all we ever get taught in history is WW2, which is why i dropped it since im into medieval stuff like the hundred yr war and the crusades)
