hell all, i just recently installed a new mob in my computer the A7v600-x and it has the award bios on it, when i turn my computer on it flashes the POST screen and goes straight to the bios and says improper cpu frequency combinations, and it wont boot up at all. i dont know what version of awardBIOS.

specs:
amd xp 3000+
768mb dd 3200 RAM
geforce fx 5700 ultra 256mb ram
240 gig hhd

any help will be grateful.

if you need more info just ask.

well, i have the same mobo, with a 2600+. What you need to do is find out the true core speed of your processor and set the speed manually in the bios. The only other reason i ever get that message is if i shutdown in the middle of booting

visit asus' website and look for bios upgrades.

I have an Asus mobo, similar to your with an XP 3000+
Your speed should be set to 2167mhz.
