Hi peeps, I have just built a rocket launcher (not skinned as of yet) and was hope one day to import into FPSC. It's quad barrel, and I was wondering 2 things, firstly, what's a good polycount for a gun? I have a feeling mine is too high, I made it in milkshape and here is the info:
Vertices: 333
Triangles: 616
Too high?
Also, I was gonna make it a special weapon so when u fire it it looks like it fires 4 rockets at a time (it's only one really, it's just the model of the rocket make's it look like there's 4 and you specify 4 times the damage of the normal rocket launcher) I assume this is possible seeing as our bullets, rockets, grenades etc can look how we want?
Thanks to all the beta testers, admins and all upon high who have answered my questions. Great forum and the peeps are cool.

616 polys sounds ok, I think the supplied models will be around that anyway. It's possible to add your own bullet models, so I think you'll be able to get everything working how you want.

Cheers Van B, nice one, I will post an Image of it when it's done for a bit of feedback on my style, I have 8 more gun designs and more in the pipeline.

not fully textured at the mo, but they are definately coming along.
I am looking forward to the feedback on my stuff, i will post some inages soon. Bare in mind that I am new to this modelling and texture thing, so don't expect commercial quality, i think they will look ok in a game, other's might think they're crap. These guns, when finished will be aprt of the package Noldor and I are planning...hopefully we'll get a few more model donations from other modellers, that would be nice, so we can offer a nice spread of stuff. I hope to get some futurist furniture made also, I will try to keep the poly count low though.
When I have something more real for you I will post a new topic and also so will Noldor, he will be hosting the .zip file when we compile it. Should be good!

Evarcha - I will have a need for some low poly sci-fi furniture. I want to use completely new & different media then what comes with FPSC. If your efforts prove good and you are interested I can provide a small amount of $$$ and a large amount of credit for working on a side project.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll give you the details of what I'm working on. Thanks

I have a question about weapons:

Changing guns is the standard 1,2,3,4,5 etc, so I think your limited to 10 guns, which is no biggie - nice to be able to carry that much firepower for a change, and adding secret weapon caches using ducts etc is real easy.
