I just saw this amazing rendering of Vehicle Voltron, and I noticed something:

I always knew he had those trucks as his feet, but not until I saw this picture could I really see the danger that comes along with having your feet be made up of wheeled vehicles!

Wouldn't he like ... always be rolling around or something?

Notice how that in the cartoon his bottom wheels were never visible? Maybe they slid in or someting.

It's just like roller skates.

It's not like cars have BRAKES or anything, I guess.

Probably the same way a car stays in place, magic!

I had the vehicle voltron toy. The metal lions were way cooler.

I only had the lions toy. But I love them both.

I just found out from their website that they are DEFINITELY going to release the full series for both voltrons on DVD soon! Sweet!

http://voltronforce.com/dvd.html

On the Lion's Voltron, it's interesting how they created the character of Sven just to kill him off in like the third episode, just to bring in the princess. Sven was pretty cool.

You know, one thing I always wondered is, how come the suits only matched the lion color that they drove only half of the time?

Keith - Red Suit, Black Lion

Pidge - Green Suit, Green Lion

Sven - Black Suit, Blue Lion

Princess - Pink Suit, Blue Lion

Hunk - Yellow Suit, Yellow Lion

Lance - Blue Suit, Red Lion

Was that just a mistake or what???

Maybe they were horribly color blind.

Well, the princess wasn't always a part of it. Once she joined and took umm, sven's place(i think), she had to wear the pink uniform and that threw everything off. I hope those come out on dvd soon.

This'll probably throw this thread off so I apologise in advance, but... Wasn't there a character called Princess in Battle of the Planets as well? With a pink suit?

Eh?

I'm not sure if it has a different name in the US, but the Japanese title's something like Gachaman, I think. All of the heroes were dressed in eagle-style suits (even the visors looked like beaks).

I hope I spelt the title right.

It was Kagaku ninja tai Gatchaman.

There were a bunch of different names used for those series. I used to watch it here and it was called G-Force and then Eagle Riders.

Yes, I remember the title Eagle Riders, but I always thought that was an update like when they redid Transformers and made Optimus Prime a fire truck. (Really bad example, sorry)

G-Force is still on tv. (cartoon classic channel) It's also not the only voltron look-a-like show. There's been a few I've seen, and some newer ones in the 90's that were awful. (power rangers)

/me gets sick at the thought of Power Rangers

It did get shown on Bravo in the UK, but since then, no sign of it bar the DVDs in HMV (under a sign saying Manga. IT'S ANIME!)
