You never know

But on a more serious note, there is a good amount of things Dark Basic Pro can't do. One of them which bothers me the most is it does not support .3ds. That makes a pain for people like me who actually bought the 3ds max 6 ( Student license ) but there is ways to get around that using free converting tools. There is more but I'm sure you will find them yourself.

*smacks head on table*
ok then...not valve couldnt, because they are crap at DBPro, they could never get past "hello world" so went back to their original idea.
ok seriously, it may be almost possible but you cant just code a game like that. It takes a hell of a time, yes the graphics could be matched, the controls could be mirrored, the ai could possibly be done, but the original feel would have to be created by them.

And how do you edit what?...you actualy need to ask a proper question.

What DBP can't do, third party commands can often fix.

good point baggers. I think a good 'feel' lacks in many games that otherwise work fine. Tomb Raider 1 had it then lost it after number 2 i think. Flashback had it but did Fade To Black? The art of creating a real 'feeling' in a game is as much of a thing as it is in say, filmmaking.

ok.
what kind of projects you all working on?
what are third party commands?
how do you edit your posts? (some dude got s**t for not double posting in other forum)

theres a little edit link underneath any posts you make(under your picture, next to the back to top link)

Part of solving the problem is actually noticing that the problem is there in the first place
