Well, I exported a .x file from Blender 3D, abd I'm using the LOAD OBJECT code to load the .x file. The DarkBASIC Professional Demo comes up with an error that says "Cannot load object".

I've attached the file so that you can see if it's me (and I'm not coding correctly), or its the file.

BTW - It's just a test model.

Thanks for the help.

I've done further testing since this was posted (and I've installed about 5 different direct x exporters).

Using this code:

and the file attached, I don't get any error messages, but the program quits anyways.

I solved the problem by opening up the .x file and deleting parts of it (and adding others). Apparently the .x exporter for Blender doesn't export a .x that DarkBASIC Pro can read.

Hello artofwot. How did you discover what parts of the file to keep or delete or alter? Did you just try things at random? What gave you the clue on how to fix the problem?

Hey there

You may prefer your modeling program. But if you are open to others, try using GMAX (which is a really nice FREE program) you can get a plugin that will allow you to export to MD3 (QuakeIII) files. You can then open these MD3s with Milkshape (has a free trial) and export to Dirext X 8, which opens fine for me in DBPro.

Good Luck

I found a free .x model on the forum that did work in DarkBASIC Pro, and I just altered the form of my .x file to match it.

Thanks! I probably would never have thought of trying that.
