who here thinks they should just gather all of the usefull knowlage in the world and place it in a server of two, maybe three, and make a program that you install, bring up, and search for anything you want, and the program brings it off of the server and brings it to you computer, things like, language translations, mathe snyapsis, ect..?
it would certenly rule out the false internet sites that are out there.

'Useful' and 'True' are both subjective terms though, so good luck with that.

JeKu's post sums it up. Even if there was some perfect system for determining what qualified as useful, it would be pretty awful to have only one opinion to look at on everything, wouldn't it? The beauty of the net is its freedom; if you want a flat look at something, try an encyclopedia.

Useful Info No. 1
"Practice" and "practise" are actually two completely different words! Who would've guessed?

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

The boiling point of water is both useful and true. Yes it changes with pressure but through that into the equation and we have a non subjective, non arbitrary, you are not even allowed to argue, bonifide truth. So I agree With osiris. I have found absolute nonsense on pages that claim to be reputable.

Something really catchy that makes people stop and think about the meaning of life and say to themselves "My but thats clever"

I have a bag of internet under my desk, and it's quite full. It would be handy if someone could sift through it and remove a kilo or two of the useless stuff.
