I have 2 objects (uploaded for your viewing pleasure).

Okay, I load both these objects in two seperate Darkbasic (Classic) files. Then I load a box object into each of them and set object collisions on and to polygons for both the box and the level on each file. Both codes are exactly the same, only the level object is different.

I have a movement code (this is 2d movement on a 3d world), so you can move left and right and jump. This works on both files.

Weird thing: On the Testlevel.3ds, the game runs fine. Normal FPS. And this consists of the boxes you see and 2 cylinders. It even has textures (which won't load into your modeller, because they're bmp files).

On the Level1V2.3ds, the game runs slow. The FPS is about 20 below the other one. This level is only 3 boxes, un-textured.


What the heck is going on? The level which has textures and more is running fine! Yet the other level which has less and no textures is slowing it down!

This makes NO sense what-so-ever.

I havent looked at the files but a quick question,
are you using a matrix, if so, when left untextured it will cut your performance.

Oh. That might be it. Let me try getting rid of my matrix.

Okay, that was exactly the problem. I got rid of the matrix and now it runs as fast as the other one.

But that's weird. Why is the one with more faster than the one with only 3 shapes?
