By heightmap do you mean with a bitmap image, where different shades of grey determine the height, or using a text file, where you can just key in the heights into Notepad?

Oh, that should be simple!

For now, try entering the heights you'd need for each point on separate lines, starting from matrix coordinate 0,0 and have DB "open to read" the text file, setting each matrix coordinate by reading each line.

Do you need a snippet?

(Ignore that, I didn't know you changed your post)

[EDIT] Which way, again? This refers to bitmaps, BTW.

I don't have any code but I'd suggest loading the height map as an bitmap using "load bitmap" and working out which part of the bitmap you want to look at by first dividing the bitmap size by the matrix density and getting that colour of every so many pixels based on the answer.

That's OK. Just a flaw with all forums that caused it.

start of with an image that has some texture - like a photo of some stone or something - before drawing on your details with a paintbrush.

Or see if you can achieve a textured effect in your image editor.

(I know what I'm talking about, but if you haven't got a clue I probably haven't worded it right. Sorry.)
