Uh, you really need to start off simple, with pong or something before you do a RPG.

Well, I'm trying aren't I.....

Here is a possible list of steps to build up to a RPG fight scene.

1. Create the turn-based system, this does not include all the fancy moves and graphics. Simply it means the system that switches between turns and registers damage based on the attack. Should be done with no graphics, just printing debug messages.

2. Get one your models to load and animate the most basic attack.

3. Create simple test GUI to choose attack and whatever else.

3. Now combine the models, GUI, and turn-based system.

4. Add more attacks.

5. Add all the special effects for each attack.

In general the best way to approach any very complex problem is to start with the most basic version of the problem. And then slowly add complexity to it.

If you don't have a clue how to do it then you aren't ready to try.
