whats the best way to calculate the different perimetrs around my terrain so i can build a fence around it?

object size(x) and object size(z) should do it. A terrain is just an object like any other once it's loaded.

Remember if you scale it, you'll have to store the values manually as the object size is not updated to match. I don't know if the scaling within the terrain loading code is done before or after the object is made, you'll have to experiment.
