I have a bizarre problem in DBPro in which when both the left and right arrows are pressed, DB completely fails to recognise the spacebar. Is this a known bug? Is there a fix out there? I have the latest version of DBPro and the editor so that shouldn't be the problem... Any input welcomed

As a newbie I'm not privileged enough to change the contents of my previous post until it's been passed by a mod and posted so I can't correct this myself as I'm going to bed now, but my previous post should have said that the spacekey is unresponsive if the left and UP arrows are pressed, not left and right. Sorry, I'm tired.

usually if 3 keys are pressed at a time one they stop functioning, this is even with professional games, and the computer beeps

That's almost exactly the program I used to test it, Travis, and it didn't work for me. Madness.

Galvanti, I don't know what you're talking about there - it's entirely possible to run forward while strafeing left and jumping in plenty of games, and besides - it's only the up-left combination that's playing up for me. Up-right, down-left and down-right all work just fine.

Some keyboards don't like multiple arrow keys being pressed. This is 1 reason for the wasd keys in fps shooters.

But the thing I don't understand is why it's only up and left that doesn't work. If the keyboard just didn't like multiple arrow presses you'd expect it to fail when any two arrows went down.

ok, sry, i guess there are a lot of games u can press three keys in, but usually if three "counteracting" keys are pressed, or even two, such as left and right, then the computer beeps, but i guess urs arent counteracting, so sry, i hope u get it figured out

@ Monsieur Mort
Don't know why, just remember reading a post on this forum about it. It was said that certain combinations of arrow keys lock up on some keyboards.

Ah well, it's a bit crazy but I guess I'll have to live with it. I've changed the controls to WASD to get round it. Thanks for the help eb

its all to do with the circuitry of keyboards. there are only about 7 pins on a PS2 keyboard connector therefor a max of about 6 keys at once can be recognised by a computer. assuming 1 key is the "earth" and the other 6 are used for keys. and since there are over 100 keys on a keyboard then chances are there are gonna be conflicts.

some keys have priority over other keys. so if you press left and right and forward in UT2004 then you straif right. (if i remember correctly).
