I use Dark Basic Classic and I was wondering if anyone could tell me of an animator that is easy to use and can make good objects. I tried Truespace 3.2 and Anim8or, but I couldn't quite figure out how to make the object I wanted to with Truespace, and Anim8or only made .an8 files, which Dark Basic cannot read.

I walk alone, down a street that I call home, and wonder why God is so mean to me.

Milkshape 3D is the one that a lot of people seem to use.

That may be true, but the animations themselves are not exported unless there has been a very recent upgrade to the program. The author published the custom format for the animation data but to the best of my knowledge nobody has written an exporter.

IMHO, one of Anim8or's strengths is in animation creation, not particularly 3D modeling itself, so you might be better served to start with Milkshape or GameSpace, where you can create models and then animate them in a DBP-friendly way. I don't know anybody who wouldn't say that 3D modeling and animation require some serious investment of your time to learn, so you might as well spend it all in the same program if you can, at least starting out...

I would suggest DeleD. Truespace is more advanced though it has so many features. I would just try to find a good tutorial. It can make detailed objects like a face and it has metabals. It is worth the efort to lern
