I made my own media player! you can play CDs and play custom songs that I put on! It doesn't take up much cpu so you can run it with DB and it will not slow you down!
Note: This is a big file so it will take a while to download.

It takes a while to download but it works. However, it takes over 2 minutes to open (and this is on a 3Ghz P4) which is VERY bad. Another problem was when I closed it when playing a CD it kept playing the CD but I can't find the process in the process list to kill it (I had to eject the disk to make it stop). I'd make the executable smaller (removing the custom files probably), desperately try to make the startup time faster, and make the UI better. Also, possibly changing to a different programming language would be better than using what you're using now.

I myself have made better
check out mplayer3.0c i got a download of it on hckr83.freefronthost.com
it only is 500kb and has a full gui and plays everything but .cda
and an experimental standby function makes it use less cpu
press ctrl to activate it press(or hold) space to exit out of standby

my avatar is working for the first time since free-space went down
