yep, just like the atm machine. I had another star struck idea today while watching envy, get this, a space flyer where all you do really is just fly around and view space scenery. You are in a one man space jet (sorta x-wing/viper style ship, and you fly around from first person cockpit view, and you just fly along enjoyign the ride, going to different places in the universe. Sounds lame? well get this, it will be a pc run game, but the pc will be a custom built model that connects to a large tv screen, all built into an enclosing capsule decked out to look like the cockpit of a space flyer. Basically I aim to make it a fully immersive space sim, where you can fly around space (not too sure on wether i want other ships for interaction - like shoot outs or com links etc- as of yet). Attached below is the basic sketch of what im talking about. The inside will be decked out with nifty looking metal plating, aswell as a comfy chair built like a cool space cockpit chair, aswell as lots of flashy lights and buttons that ultimately do nothing. The pc will just be a standard tower with tv output, pre set up so that when the machien boots up it loads what ever o/s works and then runs the game automatically , so the uer only needs the joystick to navigate the game options. the tv will be large but cheap too. so all up will only cost me around $1000 aud. The problems i see is that crazy las character tellin me how im not gonan do it, well this is loche, and dont tell me what i cant do. anyway also if im gonan sell this thing for more money and make multiples of it, im gonan need to license the os, which will most likely be windows, cause if i use db then hey. which is prolly wont work. that will all be sorted out later if i want to sell the thing, btu for now personal enjoyment is top of the list.
thats a rough sketch, im gonan go look at the hardware store tomorrow for more ideas, aswell as the electronis shop to see if i can build a nic elooking console to put in the middle. also gonna look up parts to put together a workable pc unit for around the 600 dollar mark. anyway post any comments on what you guys think.
