Sorry for the probably stupid question, but how do u take a video on the computer? like of u playing a game or something?

Video games…they can take you places unreachable, impossible, unfeasible. They put you in the book...they put you in the movie...they put you in a world, a world that before could only be imagined.

I have heard of/seen many people use a program called fraps to do such a thing. It records what is sent to your monitor and makes it into a video. You might want to check out the website, I think its here
http://www.fraps.com/ Can someone tell me how to change the text of a link? I want it to be like
<A HREF="http://www.google.com">Google</A> would be in html

Not trying to hijack your thread, I just dont want to create a topic just for a small question, hope thats fine with you.

Yeah i used FRAPS for my videos, it does eat a little FPS but thats to be expected. You will find though that the videos are huge, so you will need to compress them...if you have paintshop pro you can use animation shop to do this, although i dont think it does sound.
What do other people use for their compression ?

Check out DivX. It compresses videos quite nicely, you just need to make sure people have the codec, though usually media players will point out that it needs DivX if the user doesn't have it.

Ok i just learnt a little more myself through some trial and error.
Set the Capture rate in Fraps as close as possible to your ingame fps, this causes less slowdown, i was capturing at 30fps and it really slowed it down, set it to 60 and it worked like a dream, no slowdown at all!...
For compression make sure you have the DivX plugin install and then get yourself VirtualDub (search on google), load your file in, select DivX compression in the 'video' menu and when you save it can reduce a 210meg movie with sound down to 8meg!...its great for those game videos!
Hope that helps
