I'm new to the forum scene in that I've been using the forum for basic research of DBPro for about 6 months now... but have never posted... so hello everyone

Aight, so for some personal enjoyment, and partial school project thats already done... I'm trying to make Counter-strike 1.6 in DBPro... Well, first of all, i need help creating a 3D space gravity algorithm... If anyone knows of somewhere where i can get this formula or can help me derive one... please reply

Another thing i need help on is creating some sort of networking multiplayer .dll for DBPro, because i think that the hard coded commands for DBPro are only meant for maybe 4 players max...

One more thing... I'm using the same models and skins for the players, but if anyone knows about the CS engine, the models are like scripts, in that they have different entities... ex. Triggers with sounds and animation, as well as the hitboxes... Any suggestions on how i can use those same scripts in DBPro?

Thx for any input or help in advance...

No, there's no limit like that. DBPro uses (at least part of) DirectPlay. If there's a limit, I think it's around 255 or so, not 4. I've written a couple of custom TCP/IP and UDP implementations for various operating systems and based on that would strongly advise not trying to roll your own networking layer if you're also hoping to code a game at the same time. Most of the complaints about DBP network play center around router and firewall problems and/or misunderstandings and involve play on a WAN/Internet, not on a local area network where you'd probably be doing your development and testing. I haven't tried the DBP multiplayer commands but in reading the posts of others it seems like a lot of the complaints can be resolved by just learning which ports you need to open up on your firewall if you want to play on the internet.

Just my thoughts. Your mileage may vary. Offer not available in Alaska and Hawaii and etc. etc. etc.

to use those scripts (i assume you are talking about the half-life mdl files) you need to rewrite the dbpro half-life mdl support.
However i can direct you to my way of using mdl files and gravity questions and some more here:
