in the "room" example that comes with DB, if you run it, then goto the CLI and enter the command "Delete matrix 1", when the player moves, it (the player) blurs. What is this?

Possibly because you have deleted the matrix and so there is nothing to draw in that area. When the player moves, the old images stay there but are gradually drawn over by the ghosted water object. It looks ace, I'm going to try and recreate it in a controlled way.

DB classic room demo. The one with the scorpion and the ball. I've already managed to control and recreate that effect to produce a nice looking but limited motion blur effect.

It doesn't quite work anywhere, and I'm not sure about the colours you can have either. I'm working on it.

it's pretty simple...why are you guys having such trouble with it? The floor is defined by a matrix. If there is no matrix, there is no floor, so you can see the space below the character. There is NO BACKDROP ON which means the background DOES NOT REFRESH. It will not clear the picture of the old player, so you have overlapping images of the uncleared background.

I'm not having trouble with it. Where there is no background, place a white ghosted plain in front of the camera and you have instant motion blur. It doesn't work if the objects you are blurring are in front of other objects, only if they are in front of the backdrop which is off. There are other flaws with it as well.

Um, backdrop off might help.
