Basically...
I want to know how I can get a DBP exe to work without an installed DirectX 9.0c. I.e. is it possible for it to work if I include all of the necassary dlls in the working directory of the program.

Why can't I just install DX 9.0c?
Because... I want these programs to work on my school's computers. It is a very bad idea, considering my history to upset the IT technicians by installing stuff I shouldn't! Note: They have (I think) v.8.1 on the school computers.

I'm guessing it would be easier to buy a tazer, break into the school, taze the guards, hack the computer passwords, install a client/server configuration, go back home, boot up you puter/ send DX over a secure line, go back to the school, shut down thier puter, pull out an MIB flasher, wake up the guards, flash away thier memory, go home, com back to school the next day, go to your friends, say "chek out this game!" play it... and if someone goes howd we get DX 9? be all " I dunno... ask the principle"

PS Above is pronounced with extreme amounts of sarcasm...

You can try burning the DirectX 9 DLLS from your computer at home to a CD, and copying them into the same directory as the DB program (or better yet, copy them into System32 if it isn't locked).

EGOH, if that works it'd truly be something. I'd heavily bet against it working. But if it did that would means that I could finally see MONO & DUO, which are the biggest incentives so far for me to install DX 9.

If it did work you may never get the system to recover without a special reboot. I imagine that the DLLs become somehow hooked into your DX8 install and you can't delete then because Windoze thinks that they are shared and in use. You would then need to be an admin to get into safe mode to delete the DLLs. Is the risk worth it?

Yes it is possible to have two versions of DBP installed on one computer. I have done it myself. And as for copying the .Dlls into the same folder probably wont work as direct X is integrated into the graphics card drivers and to be properly installed requires admin access and a full reboot.
