Indie Game Resources (http://www.indiegameresources.com), or IGR, a new site dedicated to providing free resources to the independent game development community is having it's first contest; "Once Upon a Resource".
"Once upon a resource" is open to all and IRG will award a cash (paypal)
Grand Prize of $ 100.00. Additional cash prizes will be awarded for various "best of" categories The intent of the contest is to quickly build a library of resources that are available for use to the Independent Game community.
The rules are simple, the person that receives the most points for submitting the most "freely usable" game resources from March 12 2005 to April 15 (yup tax day) will be awarded the Grand prize! additional prize winners will be determined based on quality and excellence and will be voted on by the members or IGR. IGR membership is open to all.
What is a "freely usable" game resource?.... basically anything that a game developer or game modder may use - this can be as simple as a link to a game related web site, making a forum post (or reply), submitting a game related image, or uploading texture, a model or a tutorial.
Does the submitter have to be the author or creator of the resource - No... BUT the resources MUST be public domain and/or have a license that allows it's free usage for commercial and/or non commercial usage. Specific licenses (if any) should be included with submissions.
