Y WONT THIS WORK!!! i have downloaded 6 different icon creators save the exact same icon as "icon.ico" and even just tried it as a bitmap but it find the file the icon shows up on the exe but WAY distorted and different colors im using 32x32 and i have tried using true color-4 bit color still doesn't work

The Compiler will only export your Icons as 16 Colours / 4-bit. I am not quite sure why this is.

If you use a Resource Editor, like the one from TGTSoft.com you can replace the existing Icon after Compliation.

i made a icon with 2 colors blue and red (absolute blue and red) it was 16 bit but didn't work

This icon stuff really needs TGC's attention! If indeed it works, then someone needs to document the process for making it work. If it does not work, then it should be fixed in 5.8. These icon problems seem to be a recurring theme.

You can't use a resource editor to change the icon due to the format of dbpro exes. They are basically standard exes with a load of files appended on the end.
Unless the replacement icon is exactly the same size as the old one it will change the size of the exe and the position the appended files start at.
Then when you run the exe it jumps to where the appended files should be and trys to extract them which doesn't work.

You can try using emptys tool to change the icon instead.
