How do you people make those install wizards...
or how do you get them.
I would like to have install wizards so people don't go snooping into programs I make, I put a unique signature in my programs so I can tell they are mine.

I use Nullsoft Installer which is free. If you use one of the editors, it's a breeze to create simple or custom installers.

I used NSIS to create an installer for bvEncrypt. You could use bvEncrypt to create registration codes for your app, which might answer your second point.

bvEncrypt does it for you. It creates the DarkBasic decrypting function for your program, and you can generate unlimited reg keys.

Oh, and it's totally free.

The icon maker i have used is called iconedit and it came free with a ebook i bought on visual basic. I searched for it on google but i cant find the same version but there is many free icon editors on the web. On google, search icon editor.

I usually make icons in MS Paint and use this http://www.rapideuphoria.com/makeiconv22.zip to convert them to MS .ico files.

an .ico is not entirely a bitmap..

GothOtaku stated where to get a converter, so there's no excuse for you to not properly convert your icons

Use google or hotbot and search for a program called "LiquidIcon."

It's free and I'm using if for a few projects right now. It creates an .ico file, and you can either import a .bmp or .jpg image (which it resizes for you), or you can use its icon creator that lets you draw from scratch, in the proper icon format. I've tested the icons it creates in a text program I'm making (I talked about that in a different thread) and it's tops. I tried to attach the app to this post, but I'm not sure if I did it right. Hope this helps!
