I need to create a testing level but don\'t know how. can u teach me how to creat level like the halo testing ones.

I need to know how to make them like what apps or how to work a matrix to make a testing level. I need to know how to put the image on the walls and on the ground.how would u make walls though?I also need to know how to model a character with any apps that are free. then I need to make it first person and I don't know how.after that I will need to model a weapon how I do not know.then I need to apply it to a characterin first person and be able to shoot it.can someone help?

It doesn't need to look real good yet. though it would be nice do u have any Ideas for the commands.
