Hi, I don't post much here - I am a dual Dark Basic and Blitz user - own Dark Basic and Dark Basic Pro and Dark Matter. I main use Blitz IRC - but came across your IRC channel this week via this site. I have been in #darkbasic - nice channel - nice people in there.

#large has been set up on irc.darkbasicnet.info

It has been set up to allow the communities of Dark Basic and Blitz to talk to each other. Has already had some success and some people have already been talking in the main Dark Basic IRC channel.

There are some people like me who are both Blitz and Dark Basic users - so why keep us separate? Both communities can benefit from each other. Some people here already sell their products over at www.blitzbasic.com.

Both communities will have their own specialists, advanced users and talented people within them.

Both communities have their own unique chatrooms, but #large has been created so that those rooms don't get unnecessarily bogged down - which is why I am not going to now mention each others main chatrooms (already had a spot of bother). Also can form a meeting place for a bit of Blitz v Dark Basic online gaming.

There is no current OPPing as such in there - but permament OPs might be required.

So feel free to connect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - it's free. Remember Darkbasic has its own unique chatrooms too that you can join.

--------------------------------------------------

For anyone new to IRC - get hold of something like mIRC at http:/www.mirc.com - you'll need to connect to the 'irc.darkbasicnet.info' network. In 'Tools/Options' you'll probably have to add the server - so just use:

Description: DarkBasic:
IRCServer: irc.darkbasicnet.info
Port(s): 6667 - or leave it as it already is
Group: DarkBasic

and then just connect and then join a channel (/join #large) and start Larging!

No need to register an IRC nickname if you don't want

Any questions or help - ask in here.

Yes, "Travis P" isn't joking either - he cunningly has banned me from #anti-large.

Sage Tech, I deleted your post because you're starting a flame war when there's no need at all. Don't do it again.

Yeh, but it's not the language that counts - its the user. There are good people in Blitz and DB.

i'm only allowing the room because it saves talking about blitz in the darkbasic room.

p.s. i'm not a blitz fan but i acknowledge they need rooms to talk

The blitzers must rely on darkbasicnet to provide their IRC channel
