Hope you like them

If anyone wants to use them for any purpose, whatsoever, go for it, royalty and copyrite free

Some nice neat pixel pushing there . I miss isometric adventure games, I wish the Sims publishers would make a more RPG style game with the engine, that'd be fun.

It reminds me of this really cool advert I saw, I think it was for Virgin music stores or something, but it was all in that style with little characters running around etc. The funny thing is that this retro style that is popular now, isn't very retro at all, that crisp look was never in any of iso the games I played.

A good way to practice this stuff is to nab old Spectrum screenshots and retouch them (using an emulator), Head Over Heels has some awesome graphics, I coloured a good few screen grabs of that .

Steve,
That was the style I was aiming for Glad it came across

Anime,
You're not the only one to point that out to me

Van,
thanks for the feedback! I'll have a look into doing what you said

Renegade,
Yeah, I used that tute for the house, I only loosely followed the tute for shading techniques.
The room is original.

All my pixel art is done in MS Paint now

Jess.

Well, I'm only starting out, and as I said, it took me about 3hrs to do them both...
For the room, I had a relatively clear image of what I wanted in my mind before starting ( crucial! ).

To be honest, the cabinet thingo actually started out as a fridge, but it looked better with a glass door, so I threw it on, and changed the colour of it to brown

You don't have a fridge in a living room anyway. Nice drawings by the way.

lol, yeah, I know
It wasn't going to be a living room to start with, it was going to be a kitchen!
With a bench, and some knives, and... stuff.
Then, the glass, and the couch, and WHOA! Things got outta hand!

Thanks for the feedback

Jess.

I never thought it was a cabinet, I thought it was a 70's style beer fridge .

@ Van B LOL Those colors are just about right for the 70's aren't they?

Looks real good Jess, but your kidding when you say you did that in paint right? If not I'd love to see what you can do in PaintShop or PhotoShop!

Smile, it confuses people.

Well, let's just put it this way, MS Paint is just as good at placing dots as Photoshop, so my guess is it'd look exactly the same! Actually, when you're doing something as basic as pixel art, MS Paint has the added advantage of not being overly complicated for such a simple task.

Ben, yeah I did

Vues3d, Thanks

Spaceman, No joke, all done in MS Paint.
Using PhotoShop ( or The GIMP as it's free ) is just too much bother. Exeat nailed it on the head - it's simple, and that's perfect!
I don't want the use of fancy filters or auto anti-aliasing... I want complete control over every pixel ( that's how you get so much detail into such a small area ), thus, MS Paint is the best tool for it

Chris, Are you feeling ok? You want to sit down for a bit? Maybe I'll fetch you a glass of water or something? You sure..? Ok, then...

Thanks for the continued Feedback everyone

Jess.

Good to see you're keeping it real.

Some very nice pixel art. That tut's uber coool, I might have a go myself. Just wondered, what are the rectangles with bands of colour at the right of each pic for?

one should have an atari st with a copy of DEGAS ELITE or NEOCHROME to qualify as a pixel artist.

but seeing as they look the business and were drawn in paint you get a big thumz upski. very 16 bit.

i keep getting retro flashbacks when i look at them. ace.

Nice, looks like you have some skill with MS Paint? Have you tried using Adobe Photoshop to create art work? I believe it would be a breeze for you.

I just start recently making art work also with these editors, but I suck. I am much better at creating on paper with a pencil.

Keep up the good work.

Only in our dreams!
