Ive been programming in darkbasic pro for about 3 months now..but im going to university in about a year to do game development should i switch to sdk just to get the hang of c++, as this will be the language ill be using in the industry?

The only thing is..there seems to be no tutorials or anything like db and dbp have.

There are 1000s of C++ tutorials, and probably the same number of books. The SDK is just a big function list really, so its more important to know C++ than the individual SDK functions.

i thought it was just a similar language to c++ rather than actual c++ coding. Do you think i should switch then?

Yes it is actual C++ coding. And if you really want to pursue a career in computer programming then you better learn C++. And that is regardless if you end up programming games or something else.
