Apparently the new Dr Who has quit after the first series...

GOOD!!!

He's a crap doctor, he's got the wrong look and the wrong character for the role - Hell, that hex-headed Billy Piper is more convincing.

Bring back Tom Baker, he's still capable of being 'The Doctor' I reckon.

It's a weird combination. Christopher Eccleston is usually associated with hard-hitting drama. To be a "dopey Doctor", which doesn't fit the usual bill either is just...weird.

I think it's one of those roles that will grow over time.

As for not wanting to be typecast, this is probably the most bizarre role he's ever played, not much chance of that!

Yeah, but it's also the one millions will remember him as.. ergo Typcast as 'The Doctor'.

There has only been a single episode so far (which I found quite good), so you should give him a chance before saying he's crap.
I thought he fits in with the whole weird doctor style myself.

Also I think the whole Tom Baker thing, while sure he was the best Doctor.. problem is he became typecast for it didn't he. The whole reason he gave it up according to that documentary the BBC showed 2 weeks ago.

Now he'll be typecast as the doctor that left to avoid it

I never said he was crap. I like Christopher Eccleston. I simply said the combination of a new type of role for him and a different style of Doctor was weird, as in confusing to see for the first time.

I though he wasn't too bad, although Billy is not someone I would've chosen to play the assistant. But out of all the other names I've heard being considered for the role, Alan Davies is about the best one.

I do think they're only continuing Doctor Who to bring money in, all this talk about "keeping it going" and "we've still got 4 other doctors to go" it's all just covering up the fact they want to milk the franchise for more money then it's worth. That's proof that this country is turning into a little america.

I don't suffer from insanity:

I enjoy every minute of it!
