Heh, i hate goths too. By bringing up suicide and stupid made up things in life, i started this whole stupid convo anyways, if you thought i was a goth, "idiots", the only thing i like about goths are some of the music they listen to, and some goths look cool in all the dark clothes they wear (not how I would dress though)

hardly true at all. we mostly want others to commit suicide. we're very big supporters of the darwin awards. (supporters, not contestants) What you guys are thinking of are the "gothic posers".
When I hear someone carrying on about wanting to commit suicide, I only say one thing to them: "what are you waiting for? I don't love you."

There's also several different types of goths. A rivet head might also be called a goth sometimes. (one who takes part in the industrial scene) Then there's the artsy ones, kind of annoying after awhile.

but im much older than them, so what they say doesn't count towards anything. You don't see too many posers over 20. By then, most have faded away. Oh, and goth chicks are the hottest. (except for asian babes)

well, actually music isnt what determines what group you could be categorised in. Its personality and appearance really

grunger is normally baggy clothes, longer hair and enjoy a laugh.

goths wear darker clothes and are VERY nice people.

Though, more often now, people idolise famous people and dress in clothes the same and listen to certain music and go "im a grunger", but true grungers dont TRY to be a grunger, they just be who they want.

If you naturally like the clothes you wear, and enjoy a fast adrenaline-rushing active life. Then your a true grunger


Me personally, am an individual, i aint in no group. I like heavy metal, i dress in dark clothes with lotsa skull jewellery, and i like to skateboard and play electric guitar. I live with no real care for anything, i could live with anything happening in my life, nothing really effects me. Im not suicidal, but i have the strong urge of wanted to kill many others around me. If your an enemy i treat you like crap, if you a friend i treat you like a god... thats the way my mind works

Heres my view on life (basically saying, your gonna die anyway, live life full... and try to change the future to make future lives better):

You try so hard, and try to succeed,
But in the end, there is no real need.
But if you just exist to live and die,
To question it is the real question, why?
Your existence is pointless, there’s nothing you can do,
Live life good to make future lives good to.

Oh well, they can be quite appealing.

If it wasn't for the music I would have liked to play in a goth band. They always seem to have a very solid fan base. Whenever we played on festivals with goth bands, the place was crowded with goths. No matter how bad the bands actually were.

That comes more from a discussion I had with some friends when talking about the different generations. I'm part of this "generation X" thing; the extreme sports, the individualism. The younger ones(about 14 and younger or so) are called "generation Y". (stupid name, i know) We concluded that they are the generation of posers. We see many of them as trying to imitate the older generation. The try to create individulism for themselves by imitating how the older generation did it. In some aspect, we all have, but not nearly as involved and closely. (unless you're a new age hippy) I don't know, thats just how we see the newer generations as compared to our own.

The exact same thing generation X did when mimicking generation W . No offense but I think it's beyond ridiculous classifying an entire generation as posers and calling your own generation individual simply because you're looking down at them instead of up at the generation you copied. Did you seriously develop the goth trend or concept yourself? If not, you're just as much a "poser" as them-- all it really means in this context is someone who follows a trend anyways.

Ok, I kinda consider myself to be somewhat of a GOTH. I wear black a lot because it makes me feel good about myself for some odd reason. I wear spikes and chains because 1. I feel chained down by lots of things, and 2. It keeps lots of people away. As for the whole "GOTH chicks are the hottest!" thing... I'm a virgin and I don't really care. Even though music has little to do with it, I love Rammstein. I have no idea what their saying, and I probably don't want to know, except for Ohne Dich (Without You), I love that song. Anyhoo... I'm not vampiric, (by the by: Suicide=EMO : EMO<>GOTH) I 'm not into the whole face painting thing, I just stay inside by myself programming and so I have light skin, lol. If anybody has any weird ideas about me hating animals, I don't. I love animals! (In a non-sexual way)

puppy+blender=yum! - Just joking...

Then again, I'm more of a mod-goth, kinda GOTH/Christian, if the two don't contradict one another. I guess one reason that I dress this way is because I want to show people that A book can't be judged by it's cover. The people who acctually get to know me for who I am rather than prejudging me deserve to have a good friend in me. I'm also against the whole immature-high-school-dating-thing. btw the black eye-liner and dark lipstick are pretty sexy in my opinion... but white make-up and some other make-up bits here and there makes them look... well, basically a human past their use-by date

I suppose talking to a bunch of computer nerds about hot goth chicks is probably the wrong audience for this stuff. Most Goth I ever got was Sisters of Mercy. Annoyingly they were also one of the best bands ever IMHO. Damn it....
