I remember when they held the contest for users to submit their own google logo - wow, there was some crap! (as seen above)

The scariest part is that there was probably some special software for making letters like that. Must have been reel old though, like an ancient modeller or something, that 3D text proggie that was so popular looked much better than that.

For some reason, I was expecting something like the current logo but solid colour or something like that (what with Google being a brand you'd expect them to slightly change their logo each time, not completely redo it).

Yeah, and then they ended up having to hire a profesional graphic designer anyway and look at all he could come up with...



Basic font, 4 different colours and a bevel effect. Oh well, I guess it works.
