I have chosen to be logged in for a work. Even though I'm not in a shared computer environment could this IN ANYWAY be a problem (primarily to my security)?

Nope. (I assume you mean "week" instead of "work"?)

It'd only be a problem if someone came to this site from your PC because you'd be automatically logged-in and they could start messing with your account. In a shared computer environment we recommend setting the log-out to be "When I close my browser". Otherwise it doesn't matter so much.

So, if I were in a non-shared environment (i.e. only one computer with me not connected to any shared networks), and let's say that some other guy from another part in town goes to the DB site, will he be able to hack into my account even though I'm not (and let's presume he's not) in a shared network environment?

No. He'd need access to your actual PC.
