star wars should have stopped after ep I. The first three were classic...the 'Episode I' was borderline...and the 'Episode II' was horrible. Maybe because im not a huge star wars fan, but what can I say...they just keep getting worse.

Yeah, we have ours booked. Made sure we got the good seats though. Basically there is 2 rows at the back where the person in front of you has their head below your shoes, so no-one in the way basically. And the seats are like leather sofa seats ie. large and comfy. And you get a decent sized table for your food next to each chair. Oh, and a business class type lounge where you wait with fellow gallery ticket holders. And it has a bar and loads of free food and drink. You even get a bird who announces we can enter. ie. no queing like the plebs. Oh, and a really cool toilet that only we can use.

Should be tops. Does cost £16 ($30+?) a ticket mind, but worth it for the last ever Star wars (apparently). And must be comfy for, hopefully, Jar jar's death scene

Cheers

Don't get your hopes up. Check the ROTJ ending (the new one), gungans are in there. Don't know if its meant to be jarjar, but hey.

If he does die (think I read somewhere it bein confirmed he doesn't, could be wrong), it'll only be implied rather than visual.

All I know is I counted 5 seperate jedi fights in the trailer and there will probably be more than that. It may not be the best star wars movie, but it will definitely be the best in terms of action.

Ever since George Lucas and co ditched real models with CG, it all went downhill from there. The characters are too plastic and artificial IMHO.

Well CG is ok for space, but yeah I definitely agree it is not good that he made all backgrounds be CG.

Chewwie looks a hundred times realer than Jar Jar. I can't believe they still went the CG route after it looked so crappy in the first film. Sigh.

The CG doesn't bother me now so much.. I mean it doesn't matter if they are plastic models or stunning CG, they're still not real and never will be - and your brain will always tell you that, so it's kinda irrelevant. The difference for lots of us is that we watch these films now as grown-ups. I saw Star Wars as a kid - hell, I didn't think it looked "real" then, but it fired my imagination in a way films today rarely do. The element missing isn't just to do with the movie itself, it's part of us that's missing IMHO (i.e. our childhood!)

We live in a hyper-critical, over-analytical media driven world and I'll thank Mr. Lucas with my cinema ticket money to take me away to another for a few hours. And then I'll come out and read all the dirge about how "it didn't look real" blah blah. Who cares? If it's entertaining, he did his job.

Pfft... n00bs, had my tickets paid for (I guess I go and pick them up when I go) since Febuary.

I don't mind the CG too much. But as Mr Davey saud, All I want to be is entertained for a few hours.

Speaking of entertained, going to see Sin City in a hour or so. Going to the best theater in Utah IMO (Jordans Landing Cinemark) so it best be worth the trip.

But the problem is, even though it looks worse than Eps. 4-7, it is just not entertaining. Case in point: I fell asleep through Ep. 1, and was very close to snoozing in II. For those that know me, I don't fall asleep in the theatre.

Ep. 1 was just so boring and so cliched.

P.S. - I am also a movie critic part time: http://www.3movieguys.com (I'm Iceman on the site)... it hasn't been updated in almost 2 years, but it was popular in its day :p

Sure about that?

I thought episode 1 & 2 were alright in their own right. If you took away the idea that they were Star Wars films that is, and then you wern't let down too much. The CG can be spectacular, and really add to the films, but sometimes it's like they let the YTS (scallys) boys take over for the day. I mean anytime anyone jumps on the back of some creature or other makes the person look like Captain Scarlet or some other such plastic bloke. For similar effects then get out your old "Eagle eyes" action man and tie him to your cat. Watch as he unrealistically moves around like a piece of plastic. Because he is a piece of plastic. With a few million quid you would have thought you would get a bit better effect.

Oh, and does the past have better car washes or something? Some marks on those spacecraft please.... bling bling on the new ones....

Apart from that, I want to see Jar jar die, preferrably because he caused the almost total destruction of the Ewok race Apart from that, I *really* don't want to see Chewie delivering the twins (according to rumour).

Cheers

Daz, I feel exactly the same way...
The same thing happened in the Matrix - Hurrah for rubber people, and their brand-spaking new rubber coats, with all-new realistic rubber bendyness!

I mean, honestly, I've seen some better character models/animations/textures/Maps come out of hobbiest forums than I've seen in movies!

Even though the CG animations ALWAYS pull me back to reality when watching a movie like this, I still love to go see 'em... Just a shame the immersion is shot

Jess.

I really think he should use CG as little as possible. I mean, i never realy think of the realness or not of chewie, because he looks real, because he is real, (sort of). but Jar Jar can look so fake it isn't even funny.

Well, I ain't bought any tickets and I can't see myself doing so until I actually go and see it.

If anyone got Ep2 on dvd with extras you get to see them sorting out some of the cg. Some of the stuff, like Yoda, is obviously cg but I saw them making some scenes and thought "Holy ship, I didn't realise that was cg."

I'm more bothered about the story than what it looks like. I want to know what happens to Anakin, Samuel L.Jackson's death scene (should be good as he was practically equal to Yoda,) why the Jedis didn't continue to use clone troopers, why Yoda goes to live on that swamp planet, everything nerds are interested in.

There's got to be some of the best ligth saber battles ever in it as well.

To be honest, I didn't hate Episode 1 or 2, they just seemed fairly average. Aparently Episode 3 is going to be better though (said one of the actors).

Isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous!

back on the CG thingummy...I love it I absolutely love when there are copious amounts of GOOD LOOKING Cg, and i will even cope with BAD looking CG, cause it makes me feel not so bad when i make my little cg movies

Basically, I love computer graphics, and hopefully, i will go to the college in brisbane and learn how to do it for film...or just finish uni and become a teacher....but alas, i digress...

I'm not even going to get tickects. I'm just gonna wait two or three years for it to come out on DVD and then I'll rent it and go back to pretending that the first three(You know the ones made when hippies were still around en mass? ) are the only ones in existance.

It's not that I don't like them they could be great movies in their own right, but they just don't have the same feel to them that the old ones had. I don't know what it is but they just "seem" diffrent. Not to mention the third gradish sounding dialog. Oh, and did I mention the crappy acting?

I'm really hoping this one will be good, but thats what I hoped about episodes I and II. I don't think this one will be the last of them either. I mean who in their right mind (Maybe they aren't as good because Gorge Lakeass isn't in his.) is going to through away one of the most lucrative film franchises of all time? Look at how many people still went to see II evan after the one released before it was a piece of crap. There will be a "Star Wars Episode VII: (Is it seven?) Attack of the arse biting sugar plum fairies! Ok maybe not but I'd sure like to see it!

And if you don't think so then lets just agree to disagree.
