Ive been trying to use MS Word (office XP version) but when it loads i almost instantly get an error report message thing, ive sent this off but got nothing back. The thing that is puzzeling is that whenever im on the internet it works fine. Ive managed to narrow it down to being something up with the fonts cos when i try to change it by bringing down the drop menu it brings up the error quicker, however with documents that use a different font display fine for the 2 seconds they are up. Ive reinstalled it twice now but that hasnt done anything. Has anyone else had this problem or know any fixes for it.

p.s. im posting here because i assume i can get more feedback than from Microsoft support

Try clearing out non-standard fonts from your fonts directory?

Last resort, try deleting normal.dot - This is your empty document that is loaded when you start Word - often it get's corrupted and stops Word from loading. Deleting it will force Word to make a new blank one for your which is just the same.
