I know it. I'm a dumbass, I've been working on a game now for a couple of weeks pretty intensly on my laptop. And I never backed up my db program file. Now my laptop is gone for a crap and I don't know what to do. I have a recent standalone exe of what I have done so far on my desktop pc. Is there anyway to open it and get my code and put it back into db or am I basically up the creek ?

Also I had a similar problem with my desktop pc last year. Power supply was gone, nothing happening. Does a laptop have an internal power supply that the battery and adapter connect to or is it just the battery and adapter ?

If anyone can help me. Thank-you in advance.

Big sigh of relief. Got it back. Weird power supply problems, I think. Anyway my code is back and backed up. Won't get caught like that again. Thanks anyway.

madmax700,

If I am correct, I believe that an EXE is 'machine code', 0's and 1's. Therefore, it quite literally is not translatable back to 'source code'.

The only internal power source a pc usually has is just powerful enough to keep it's internal clock ticking. Someone correct me if I am wrong in this.

Your not going to get your code back.

I think NanoBrain is right about this.
