Hello all. I recently made a little game that I guess I will call Graviball(for now that is). Anyway, your just a ball thats falling a little and you can move around with the arrowkeys. You try to get to the blue sqaur in the maze, it's harder than it looks.

here are some screenies:

I've only been working on this for 2-3 hours so you don't have to tell me my media is beautiful . There isnt any 'real' media anyway its all made in program.
My highscores arnt working at the moment(my time functions all messed up) but it would be nice if you could test the gameplay and stuff. C&C are welcome. Thanks.

Zip:http://mckgames.dbspot.com/graviball/v.57.zip

edit: There are 2 modes in this demo, Normal and Decoy Winspots. Im panning on making about ten modes, with ten levels in each. Maybe anti gravity, supergravity, no gravity/friction, wind, etc. If you have any ideas feel free to suggest. So my to do list:
- Fix time Function
- Fix Highscore tables
- Add optional internet highscore upload thingy
- Make more modes and levels

edit edit: updated downloads.

A very fun game indeed. I managed to complete both modes. One thing I notice though, was that at the start of each level, it seemed like I started off with the same vertical thrust as I ended with in the previous level. Is this just me or is it a bug?

More levels please . Also, I'm not sure if you already do this, but for the decoys it would be good for the computer to randomly decide which cubes they are.

Oh and by the way, the particle effects and the start are really cool.

Very cool concept Cookyzue, but its just insanely hard lol! I got to lv 4 before I couldnt get any further. If you tone the difficulty down a bit youll have a very addicting game.

What are you talking about? I thought it was too easy . Maybe there should be a difficult setting, where with easy the ball moves slow, but on hard it moves fast.

Er actually, is that third value the screen fps? Because I get around 250.

@ Benjamin: yeah its a bug, i just keep forgeting to fix it. And i am planning on making it random for the decoys. Thanks!

@Skeletor: I could make an easy and hard I guess, but its completely the level itself, no variables to change, so there would be different levels for the easy and hard versions.(edit: ill just do what benjamin said)Thanks!

Do either of you huys think the gravity is too low?

edit: yeah its the fps, i get around the same.

I think the gravity is a good setting. But tell me, is that third value the screen fps?

edit: nevermind.

You should lock it at 60(of course you would have to change the speeds in scale with that), so that it runs the same speed on all computers, so it won't appear insanely difficult for some.

If your having problems, lock the sync rate at 60 and multiply force values by 4.

yeah it is very hard for my to judge tapping the up key bacause at >600fps which i get, tapping the up key for what seems to be the same length of time can have drastically different effects on the ball, i got stuck on level 4 but nearly got through.

this could be a very fun, addictive game if you made it a little easier and controlled the effects of the keys better, how about just adding when a key is put down instead of while it's down
(newkeystate=upkey()
if oldkeystate=0 and newkeystate=1 then addforce oldkeystate=newkeystate)
something like that

Hi, I'm currently unable to play your game. I get to the menu, and the selector (the circle) must be stuck (it won't move off exit). Either that, or the selector moves so fast when I press a key, that it goes up to play, and then back down exit

I would love to play your game, but the menu won't let me!

Can you fix this problem, because your game looks mighty fun!

Edit: It changes each time - now its stuck on high score! What the heck is going on?

@Lightning studios, you have to move the mouse(i previuosly had a arrowkey selection but didnt delete it thats why your having the problem.

@mm0zct, I fixed the frame rate the other day, it will be easier, I just have to upload it, but i'm on my moms computer right now, so I will in an hour or so.

sorry i took so long, a friend came over and i got sidetracked, and yesterday i started school, so...yeah...here it is now.

Update:
- Added passwords.
- Added two new modes(antigrav and warpspot).
- Fixed time function.
- Fixed Highscore tables.
- started to add highscore upload function(n/a in v.57).
- Sort of added credits.
- Put a 200 limit to sync, will change to 60 later on
- Added easy/hard versions(right or left click)

So, to enter your name in highscores use the arrow keys to select a character, then press the spacekey for a capital and shiftkey for a lowercase. Then when your done press enter. Just though you should know. So heres the new download.
