It's not complete, but here's what I got so far in the first night.

http://kff.dbspot.com/forums

Not bad considering I didn't even know what PHP was 2 weeks ago. And if you must post a thread, plz don't post 10 million of them. If you do, I'll be coming after you. And Jimmy will be coming from the other direction to cut you off cause you wasted server space!

questions/comments?

Not bad at all for being new to the PHP shat. Good Job.

Now add ten million, thats 10,000,000, new and completely useless features, and you will be all set

Nice The colour match despite using a lame font

Also you have a new board: id of 666 It's very good for a first attempt, mine worked but collapsed under bad structure, the annoying thing is I started to make a stable one a few months ago, it looked good and was fast, but it was lost in a hard drive corruption

EDIT: This should be under PHP in the programming talk board

Yea, the full html support must indeed go, or i'll have neo messing all kinds of things up. you didn't create a new board, just a thread that belongs to a non-existant board and therefore doesn't show up. But I did get your popup. My guess is that just throwing quotes around the text would kill any tags from being read.

Phaelax I know it doesn't create a new board, but it's easier to say that way

Jimmy, no, but I imagine it swears at them *tries*

Good.

Something's just armed my Curiosity Cannon and I have a cat in my sights:
How are you posting more than one message on the same thread? Is that just you and whoever's working on it or is it just through the form under the topic lists?

Tsk tsk, that forum is ridiculously easy to break, the VERY first thing you should do is filter out unwanted HTML, I got a very playful Javascript running in there but something more harmful could really do damage.

Yea, I'm aware of the BIG hole in security.

@Mr. Pointless,
each post keeps track of the thread ID which it belongs to. When you click a thread, it searches the posts for a matching number. Each post which shares that same number is displayed.

PHP is very easy to learn, I was surprised. I'd say the only thing that really gives me a headache was mixing php with normal text. Messy quotation marks. Took some getting used to.

I think Mr. Pointless was asking how there were multiple replies to the one thread when the funtionality hasn't been implemented for us regular guests yet.

I got that error too. Wasn't just my site, it was all of dbspot apparently.

Quote: "I think Mr. Pointless was asking how there were multiple replies to the one thread when the funtionality hasn't been implemented for us regular guests yet. "

In that case, I manually added it to the database through phpMyAdmin. Technically, you can post multiple replies if you know how to by using that big hole in the system mentioned above.

Alright, who posted the javascript security test?
Anyway, since ppl seemed to be having too much fun with this, I stripped all tags from the message.

Use the strip_tags PHP function on all form input before you store it in the database. That will prevent HTML-related damage.

i just use the replace function and replace the tag with its ascii equiv. This way it prints out the tag like normal text rather than execute it or hide it.
