Ok I am new to this and I am waiting for my Dark Basic to come in the mail. While I am waiting I am trying to make graphics a related stuff.

I have a program that lets me make 3D stuff. MilkShape.
I dont want 3D graphics right now. I want to make 2D stuff.
Is there any good trial programs that will let me make very good 2D stuff.

I want Adobe Photoshop but I dont want to pay the money.

Does anyone recomend a program for me to download. If so what is it called and what is the download site.

Please post one.

Also while I am waiting, my db trial ran out. Is there anyway I can get it going again. I live a long way away from Europe and it will probably take a few weeks. I just cant wait that long.

I use Adobe Photoshop-Elements allso.
Its close to Photoshop 5 and under 120$.

Theres also Adobe Elements 2, which is Elements for Adobe PhotoShop 7.

MS Paint is always good .

I use photoshop 7.0, and the simple paint that comes with windows.... but photoshop 7.0 is expensive, shame you can find it floating around on the web somewhere for free.......

all dangerously expensive if you dont pirate them, if you wanna be a great person and not pirate...

photo elements is a great program...
corel draw isn't *too* bad in price...
and there's always paint...good ol' paint...

BS, it costs $429 from Corel and the lowest I've found it in online stores is $300 unless you get the "Educational" use one which requires proof of an educator status (you have to be a teacher). Or else you can get ESSENTIAL (not SUITE) for about $80, but ESSENTIALS sucks.

I suggest just using MS Paint for doing the basic designs and then getting PhotoShop, PaintShop Pro(PSP), or PhotoHouse to add the effects and touch-ups to it. Personally, I do most of my work in MS Paint and then edit it with PSP 7.

If you want fresh underwear in the morning, take it off the night before.

i use PSP7. Fully registered by my m8, (god bless him and his large bank account) its a great program for 2d pictures with some great effects, but not really good for doing stuff like character drawings. Which is why I start in paint then move the image to PSP7. Have a go with it, its fun. (expectailly with the HUE UP function and then KALIEDOSCOPE effect!!)

psp7 is no way as big as sHop but does provide an alternative.

If u come from shop its sooooo limited with standard features u would find in Ps 4 +.

the ability to add shop filters is a goody.
Not all of them run properly which is a shame.

It has bad cropping and selection features

It doesnt perform well if u have a print document as compared to photoshop.

Lighting is also limited in comparison as well as managing paths and vector images.

still its a good budget alternative if u want to spend money on something when there are just as good applications for free that have the same abilities that psp has.

I tried psp 4 5 7 and this is what I can relate from my exposure to shop and painter and other higher end packages.

give zonerdraw3 pixia and canvas6(not 3dcanvas)

heads up peeps there free.

i'd agree with Indi, corel draw is pretty crappy. Corel PhotoPaint, however, which comes with the corel draw package, is very similiar to Photoshop, and a very good tool.

I know PS is more expensive, but to say that Draw is not too badly priced is not true.

Still, go with PSP (PaintShop Pro) 7 for $99 and you get PSP 8 free as soon as it comes out. Or else you can find PSP 7 for around 50 dollars in online stores.

If you want fresh underwear in the morning, take it off the night before.
