After many hours of trying to get my copy of dbpro to work(cant run any programs at all due to runtime error 5121)i found what i beleave to be the problem when i ran DXDIAG i found (Display Tab 1: Hardware-accelerated Direct3D 9 is not available because the display driver does not support it. You may be able to get a newer driver from the hardware manufacturer)yeah great just what i wanted to see i tried to find a new driver ha no chance my pc must be so old i cant even find any details on it. new mobo and gfx card time i think so what i want to know is has anyone got the ATI RADEON 9600PRO 256MB 400MHZ and if so how do you find it performs the reason i ask is i can pick one up of a mate for 30 pounds even thou its only 30 quid i dont want to waste any more money
please give me some feedback on this one because all i want is to get going

the 9600 is a pretty good card.

I have a 9600XT, it's not bad.

Sounds like a decent bargain, you should certainly go for it - IIRC 9600's usually start at about £70 for the entry level 128mb models.

Should be fine for DBPro, there's a lot of people here who use them.

Yes. All quasi-modern video cards will work fine with DirectX, and DBP uses DirectX for all rendering purposes. Any Radeon card, even a 7000, would work fine .

a 9600 is a great card, not top range but a 256mb 9600 will happily run most games at high settings with playable frame rates, i had a 9600 128mb until i upgraded my whole system and it ran like a dream.
30 quid is a bargain, go for it.
