Ok, I'm starting to make my first game with Dark Basic. I'd like to know how you make a game turn based, or real time like age of empires or star craft.

Also, if anyone wants to help me out with all the programing; or just some tips or something, that would be awesome.

THXS!

Are you sure you want to start with rpg/rts?
They're very hard to code!

if this is your first ever game, try this ...

1 - start with anything that makes a sound when you do something.
maybe a "click" sound when you press a key
maybe a different sound for each keypress ...

2 - next, add in any kind of visual that you can interact with.
maybe a menu system that changes with each selection.
Maybe it also has sound effects too

3 - add something fun ...
maybe a special effect that plays.
Maybe, a different effect based on current menu status?

4 - by now you will know what kind of game you are actually making.
Start over and redo all these steps with your real game in mind.
