what is the problem with high poly count i know it slow but at what poly count is it noticable

depends on the speed of ur PC, graphics card, memory etc. but on mine about 20,000 polys on one model can slow the frame rate just a bit. actually, dbpro can support really high poly counts, its just when u load multiple objects with high polycounts it starts to slow down a lot.

it also depends on the file size and what software you use tomake the x.file i've managed 400,000 polys with acceptable frame rates (see pic)

I've said it befre, and it does seriously depend on what type of game you are making, how many objects are loaded and on screen at once etc. But I find 1000 polys per model is a safe limit for most human like characters or cars, buildings need even less. Then you are guaranteed a good performance on lower spec PCs It can vary wildly tho, obviously...
