O_o 60usd is outragous for ddr, especially pc2700!
You should be able to get a 512mb stick for under 40usd..

Also, depending on the type of processor you have, you may find that your computer would run quite a bit faster with pc3200, if your processor supports it, and if you can clock it to 800mhz fsb.. If it's an 800mhz fsb chip and running pc2700 you're only running at 533mhz fsb (if it's stock)..
If you own a dell or compaq, or otherwise didn't build it yourself or have someone build it custom for you, then you're probably locked at pc2100 (533mhz fsb).. it'd be strange if you're running at 664mhz fsb, as intel doesnt make chips that run stock at those rates.. perhaps amd does though.. I dunno much about amd processors..
