Ok, I'm starting my first game, and I need some help.
I've only got Dark Basic, but I'm looking to see if I want any of the other programs. I've looked at the demos, but it's hard to tell. What do you think of the other programs?
I've been going around asking to see if people want to help me with this progam, and asking tips and such... But for this one, I need to know how to do a Turn Based game, and/or Real Time Strategy game. Does it have it in the manual? Did I just miss something?
THXS for your help!

its called research and trial and error.

First learn to write, then write a game.
In the manual there is only a tutorial for writing a FPS ...
Its the monster hunt tutorial. Iced demo is basically the same thing. If trying for a 2D game, check out the Swarm demo.
Also, in the code base, there are lots of tips for GUI design.

Conceptializing a game is also helpful. Also, plan for spending
most of your time debugging your code. Another tip ... When
deciding on a game to write, be sure to pick one YOU find fun to play ... as you will be playing it over and over and over as you try to duplicate a bug to see if you fixed it

Also, friendly warning about double posts ...

lol you cant make a rts game for you first game they are one of the more difficult types you need to try something a bit smaller and learn some code before you do.
