Don't you think we need a team request forum again? We teams need to recruit members, and it should be within our rights to post. It's unfair to just have mods lock your requests because they let all of the bad threads into the forum. I mean, who here is the person who permitted threads into the forum? He's the same person who made the outline. Other mods complain that too many requests don't follow the outline. BUT IT'S THE MODS WHO LET THE THREADS INTO THE FORUM IN THE FIRST PLACE! And people don't just look in the W.I.P thread for projects that are recruiting. In fact, I haven't even read more than 10 threads in there! And (for those mods who'll say "put them in the general section") who ever looks in the general section for a team request? And it would soon be locked, anyways.

So I say we get another team request forum, and have it carefully moderated so that no bad threads enter, so we can all enjoy it.

For one thing, the mods don't have all day to sit and approve each and every team request thread. We already have to do that with all of the new users. For another thing, we have yet to see a successful project that is the result of a team request.

If you want to design a great team request, why not do it on your own website? And the best place to do a team request is not in the General forum, but in the WIP. There are a few that we haven't locked because they're exceptionally written.

EDIT:

Thing is though, people who are worthy team members dont normally go to team requests to find a team. Not to mention that moderating the team requests forum is a difficult job. You can always come into the irc and see if people there want to help you.

Not really, no.

You "teams" need to stop worrying about "recruiting" and actually make something for a change. I haven't even seen a decent Pacman game come out of anything formed in the old team requests board, let alone the kind of things most of the dreamers in there want to build.

I will lock / delete all team requests that are as insane as the 99% that have gone before. If you're not going to actually put in some groundwork, create your own project web site, show some screen shots, some show playable code, actually demonstrate you're not just wasting posts on this forum - then, and only then, I'll approve the post.
